Can I design?

Do bears alt+shift in the woods?

After graduating from the illustrious Watford College, the real baptism in the creative arts began with a two year apprenticeship at The Conran Design Group. Cutting my teeth across all things graphic and typographic; store wayfinding to exhibition design, magazine layouts to food and drink packaging. This early schooling at the layout pads and mac's of some of the best designers in the industry has stayed with me to this day, permeating everything I do.

A few years later, while creating the new global brand identity for Proximity (BBDO's global re-launch) I threw in some press ads for the launch to run in Campaign and Marketing Week. And as if by magic, Jamie the art director was born. Oh, Proximity still haven't changed the logo. Does that make it a 'timeless classic'?

Often I have the luxury of handing the conceptual idea over to the design team, usually with some lovely mac visuals. Or I can take it to artwork (but you better check those trim marks). I always hold hands with the UI and UX team with digital, coding brings me out in a binary rash. This website was hard enough. But I'll set them off with XD or Figma files or even a scribble if we're in a hurry. They never seem to mind.

Hopefully that answers your question.
